Bioimpedance Testing

InBody770

The InBody 770 measures your Body Composition which is a method of describing what your body is made of including: water, protein (muscles, organs, and bones), minerals (blood stream and inside bones), and fat.  They are further divided into two categories: Fat Mass and Fat Free Mass.  Fat Free Mass is all the mass that is not attributed to fat (organs, skeletal muscle mass and water).  Fat Mass allows the body to store energy, protect internal organs, acts as an insulator, and regulates body temperature.  Maintaining too low or too high Fat Mass can be detrimental to long term health.  Through bioimpedance, which sends a low-level electrical signal throughout your body that is then sent back to sensors we can get a far more accurate description of what your body is made up of than BMI which only considers height and weight. By knowing exactly what your body is made up of can be helpful in making diet and exercise decisions.  As a therapist it helps me to know if we are working more with fat vs edema which can guide the types of interventions that I use and knowing where you are lacking skeletal muscle will also guide what exercises I should be prescribing to you.  Your results will be stored on a HIPAA compliant cloud with only your phone number as an identifying factor.  This way you track over time how your body is responding to changes you are making with your diet or exercise routine or with interventions we are implementing such as compression, compression pump, manual lymphatic drainage, etc.

Examples of Results

This person has been completing a diet and exercise routine and would have become frustrated with her program and most likely quit if she was just relying on her traditional scale. In one month she has only lost 2 lbs total body weight however she has actually gained 3.3 lbs of skeletal muscle mass and lost 6.9 lbs of fat and reduced her percent body fat by 3.7%!

Cost

$100 for first session which includes InBody770 assessment, print out of your body composition and body water results and one-on-one session with therapist to review what your results mean

$50 for follow up sessions- reassessment is recommended every 2-4 weeks if you are completing a diet or exercise routine and would like to determine if these interventions are making changes
